CYD BLOOMFIELD

BIOGRAPHY
My name is Cyd Bloomfield, and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Environmental Science at Johns Hopkins University, with an expected graduation date of May 2025. In addition to my studies, I am employed by an environmental consulting firm, where I assist organizations in ensuring compliance with EPA standards through aquatic biological testing. My undergraduate thesis focused on the presence of blue crabs in relation to various temporal cycles in Shinnecock Bay, NY, reflecting my longstanding interest in scientific research, which began in high school with an experiment investigating invertebrate genetic biodiversity in New York Harbor. I invite you to my "Projects" page to read both of these research papers and their posters. I possess a strong background in marine biology, with a specialization in invertebrates, biodiversity, and trophic cascades. I hope to use my knowledge, skills, and dedication to further scientific research while increasing community education and involvement.
